The Wat Kdei Deum temple in Prey Veng Province of Cambodia is an important place of worship for the local population. Worshippers gather at the temple to pray, offer offerings and sing hymns led by a monk. Before the service, monks will offer guidance in the proper way of worshipping the gods which include kneeling at the shrine, focusing on the triple gem and making a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings of the gods. Worshippers bow their heads in reverence and offer meals, fruit and other items to the gods and Buddhas before resuming their positions, hands held together in prayer posture. After the offering is given, a monk will lead the chanting to inspire devotion and respect, followed by hymns and sutras.
