History:

The Angkor National Museum was established in 2007 as an ambitious cultural project led by the privately-owned Legend Angkor Group. It was the vision of Jean Michel Beurdeley, founder and co-owner of the group, to create a museum that would bring the amazing archaeological and cultural riches of the Angkor region to life. ANM opened to the public on July 14th of that year. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Cambodia.

The museum is housed in a building designed by the renowned architect, Imhong Cho. The museum's exhibition galleries span over 5,000 square metres, with 14 galleries and over 1,000 objects on display. ANM features the world's most extensive collection of Khmer stone and bronze sculptures, as well as hundreds of archaeological artifacts, original stone carvings, and ancient ceramics.
