Cathedral of St. Anne is a Catholic cathedral in Beauvais, France. It is the seat of the Bishop of Beauvais and the oldest cathedral in Europe. It is renowned for its Gothic architecture, which resembles that of the larger and better-known Notre-Dame de Paris. It is one of the best churches in Burkina Faso which you must visit.

History:

The first cathedral was built on this site in the 12th century, and was destroyed by the Hundred Years War in 1360. A new church was built starting in 1548, and was largely completed by 1632. Its construction was interrupted, however, by the French Revolution and the following years of civil unrest. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Burkina Faso.
