The Convent of São Francisco, João Pessoa is a Catholic church and monastery located in the capital city of the Brazilian state of Paraíba. Built in the 16th century, it is the oldest religious building in the city and the only remaining Franciscan monastery in Northeast Brazil. Its construction began in 1594 and was completed in 1603. The church is noted for its late-Manueline, Portuguese Renaissance architecture and its masonry walls.
