The Pentecostal Assemblies of Africa In Botswana: History,Facts, & Services
The Pentecostal Assemblies of Africa (PAA) is a Christian denomination that was established in 1930 during the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles and is often referred to as the Azusa Revival. The movement, which began in California, quickly spread throughout Africa and other continents, playing a major role in establishing the Pentecostal movement worldwide. The PAA believes in the Trinity, the divine and infallible authority of the Bible, the virgin birth and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. It also teaches that believers should live lives of holiness and should look for an imminent second coming of Jesus, accept the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues, and emphasize evangelism and missions. The PAA is comprised of more than 70 national and international assemblies, in countries such as Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria.
