Our Lady of the Desert Cathedral is a Catholic church located in Twentynine Palms, California. It is the largest church in the city and serves as the primary cathedral for the Diocese of San Bernardino. The church was originally constructed in 1974 and has since been expanded several times over the years. History Our Lady of the Desert Cathedral was built in 1924 to serve the growing Catholic population in Twentynine Palms. It was the first permanent Catholic building in the area and served as the first mission outpost for the Diocese of San Bernardino. The church was designed by local architect Louis Rios and is a version of a German Romanesque Revival style.
