The Diocese of Botswana is an Anglican diocese in the Church of the Province of Southern Africa, part of the Anglican Communion. The Diocese, created in 1970, covers the entire country of Botswana, and all parishes are part of the Church of the Province of Southern Africa. There are approximately 40 churches and 20 schools in the diocese.

History:
The Diocese of Botswana was established when Botswana became a sovereign state in 1966. Initially the diocese was part of the Diocese of Central Africa, and Archdeacon Titus Mngomezulu served as its first Bishop from 1970-1974. The first Bishop of the Diocese of Botswana was appointed in 1974, and he was succeeded by the current Bishop, Rev. Dr. Raphael Negome Letsela, in 2003. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Botswana.
