History:
The Apostolic Faith Mission Church traces its beginnings to 1906, when William J. Seymour, a leader in the Pentecostal movement, preached in the Azusa Street Mission in Los Angeles. His teachings, along with those of other Pentecostal denominations, such as the Church of God in Christ, found their way to South Africa. In 1908, four South African preachers—including John G. Lake—traveled to America to meet with Seymour and learn more about the teachings of Pentecostalism that he and others had begun teaching. Upon their return to South Africa in 1910, these preachers began to spread the teachings of Pentecostalism throughout the African nation. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Botswana.
