Monument to Lenin, Minsk is a grandiose monument dedicated to the Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin located in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. It was erected on October 25, 1985, on the 70th anniversary of Lenin’s birth. It is the largest monument to Lenin on the territory of the Soviet Union. The monument is a thirty-meter-high concrete and granite sculpture of Lenin and is located in the center of Minsk on Lenin Square (now October Square). It consists of the base, a nine-meter-high statue of the leader standing on a nine-meter high pedestal, a twelve-meter-high figure of the revolutionary symbolizing the proclamation of the Soviet rule, and the guard of honor made of granite - a cosmonaut, a soldier, a worker, and a peasant. At the base of the pedestal, are a number of sculptures of workers and peasants, as well as a plaque with the words, "Lenin - immortal leader and teacher".
