Church of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Stanislaus is a Catholic Church located in Detroit, Michigan. The Church has a long history of service to the Polish community in Detroit and the surrounding areas. It was established in 1868, and is named in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Stanislaus, an 11th century bishop of Poland. The Church is a part of the Romano-Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. The Church is led by the pastor, Father Robert Koszek, and is a vibrant and welcoming community. The Church serves those surrounding parishes, with Polish language Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. It also offers programs such as Sunday School, youth group activities, adult educational classes, and religious services. It is well known for its Christmas Eve procession and its annual blessing of pierogies. The Church also participates in community outreach, offering a food pantry, English as a Second Language classes, and a variety of other services.
