Ascension Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith is a church that was founded in 1981 by Pastor E. J. Paschall and Pastor Joe Sory in Houston, Texas. They began as a nondenominational congregation and have since grown to become the largest Evangelical Church in Houston. The church specializes in providing spiritual guidance and counseling for families, couples and individuals, a focus on helping communities in need, such as those in the inner city and cities abroad, and neighborhood outreach. Ascension Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith History Ascension Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith was founded in February of 1981 by Pastors E. J. Paschall and Joe Sory. The church was located in the former Camp Logan Road building in Houston, Texas. It quickly grew in size and began renting additional facilities in the nearby area in order to accommodate the growing demand. In January 1993, they opened the permanent campus of Ascension Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith in the Clear Lake area. This new campus was located on a 10-acre site and features a 600 seat auditorium, two chapels, a family life center, a cafeteria, and classrooms. The church services a large and diverse population of families and individuals from all walks of life.
