History:

The vision for Mount Zion Mission Inc. was conceived in 1979 by a group of six Barbadian pioneers who were led by the Reverend Lavis Cox-Edwards and his wife. After much prayer and discernment, they identified areas of need in Barbadian society, particularly among the disenfranchised. Their objective was to create a platform that would help these segments of the population to receive needed support, acquire life-skills, and become self-reliant. Mount Zion Mission Inc. was then officially formed on April 30, 1979, and the first branch office was opened in the rural area around San Juan. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Barbados.
