The mosque has three domes with four doors and is decorated with intricate terracotta designs. The mosque also has three mihrabs, which were used for offering prayers. An archaeological survey reported that the mosque was renovated during the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb. The Tarash Jame Mosque is a late Mughal period mosque located in the city of Sirajganj, Bangladesh. Built in 1709, it is one of the earliest examples of Islamic architecture in the country. The mosque is characterised by its simple structure and lack of decoration. It has a central rectangular prayer hall, flanked by two square chambers which served as side entrances. The prayer hall is topped by three domes and a single minaret. The walls are covered with plastered brickwork and there is no evidence of much ornamentation. The interior of the mosque features a wooden Mihrab and a wooden pulpit, both of which are finely carved and decorated with floral designs. The floor of the mosque is made of marble tiles in alternating red and white that is typical of Mughal-era interiors. The Tarash Jame Mosque is one of the important landmarks of the city and remains an important part of Sirajganj’s cultural heritage.
