The Sultan Alam Shah Mosque is an important religious shrine located in Chashara, Narayanganj. It is believed to be built by Sultan Alam Shah, grandson of Sultan Mahbub, around 1750, during the reign of the Mughal king Alamgir II. The mosque's main feature is its large central court, with its seven domes supported by four slender minarets. The prayer hall has two mihrabs, one in the eastern wall and another in the western wall, flanked by a staircase at either side. The mosque also houses a library which houses ancient manuscripts and rare books. Apart from mosque, Sultan Alam Shah Mosque also houses a museum which displays coins, holy relics, stone inscriptions, paintings, manuscripts and other antiquities. Inside the mosque, there is a single open prayer hall with a marble floor.The walls are painted with white and blue floral patterns. The imam has a raised stone platform in front of the mihrab.The mehrab is inlaid with glazed tiles and decorated with floral and calligraphic designs.
