Tegher Monastery is a medieval Armenian monastery complex located in the Vayots Dzor Province in Armenia. It was constructed in the 12th century and is one of the most complete and well preserved monastic complexes in the country. This monastery is one of the oldest Armenian Monasteries, has an old church and numerous other buildings which are now preserved as national monuments with ancient carvings and other clues to be explored.

With its believed construction date from around the late 12th century, Tegher Monastery has seen its share of history, from the fall of the Armenian kingdom in the late 13th century to the rule of the Turkmen Karabakh Khanate in the late 15th century. Later, the monastery served as a spiritual center for many Armenians fleeing the Ottoman and Persian empires in the mid-18th century, and was subsequently restored during this period. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Armenia.
