The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mendoza is a Metropolitan Roman Catholic archdiocese in Argentina, based in Mendoza. It was erected as a diocese in 1910 and its territory was taken from the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Rafael. In 1952, it was elevated to an archdiocese. History:

The diocese of San Rafael was erected by Pope Gregory XVI on August 19, 1834. By an Apostolic Brief of May 11, 1910, Mendoza was split off from the Diocese of San Rafael to form the new Diocese of Mendoza. On April 15, 1952, by Pope Pius XII, it was given the title of Archdiocese. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
