The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bahía Blanca is a Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. It was established on April 23, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. The current Archbishop of Bahía Blanca is His Eminence Pascual Salvador and the Auxiliary Bishop is His Excellency Mario Aurelio Poli. The archdiocese is comprised of nine suffragan dioceses and parishes that are scattered throughout the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, and Chubut. The Archdiocese of Bahía Blanca was established in 1951. It was preceded by the Diocese of Bahía Blanca, organized in 1934 and a part of the Apostolic Vicariate of Patagonia. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
