Catedral Metropolitana De Santa Fe De La Vera Cruz is the Roman Catholic diocesan cathedral of the city of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz, Argentina. It was founded in 1745 and became the official diocesan seat in 1871. While still maintaining its Baroque style with its distinguished towers, the cathedral has undergone a remodeling in later centuries that has given it a Neo-Classical look. The structure is located at the corner of 25 de Mayo and Mitre streets in the historic center of the city. It is one of the best churches in Argentina which you must visit.

History:

The parish of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz was established in 1726 and the cathedral of the diocese was built in 1745. Over the centuries, it has suffered numerous transformations, the most important being in the mid-19th century. At that time, the current facade was built and lasted until its transformation in 1924, when it incorporated a Neoclassical style, thus turning into the current one. Originally the works of this remodeling were the responsibility of Father Carlos Costa, the current parish priest, who began transforming the old Baroque style in 1923. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
