The chapel is situated on the former living space of 7th century Goths, named after an ancient Roman military figure, San Roque. The original site contained an altar, an unfinished crypt and a wall of frescoes painted by famous Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
