Basilica de Luján - Luján is a Catholic basilica in the town of Luján, Argentina. It was founded in 1747 and dedicated to Our Lady of Luján, the patroness of Argentina. The structure has two main sections: the main temple and the cloister. Within the walls of the main temple are various images including several images of Virgin Mary. A large park surrounds the Basilica, known as the Plaza of Luján, and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Luján is located just outside the Basilica grounds. The original structure of the Basilica de Luján was built in 1747 and consecrated the following year. In the late 1700s, it was renovated to accommodate the increasing number of pilgrims. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
