Sant Miquel d'Ansalonga is a small village located in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra. It is located at an altitude of 1,288 meters, and is situated slightly to the east of the country's highest peak Cap de Bera. The tiny village is known for its breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere. In medieval times, Sant Miquel was part of the principality of Cerdanya, before it was annexed by the Bishopric of Urgell in 12th century. During the Spanish Civil War, it was an important location as it enabled access to a number of mountain passes. Today, Sant Miquel is primarily a tourist destination offering a number of activities including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking and paragliding. The village also has a church, a restaurant, and other facilities. Its most famous attraction is a stele which is a 7.4 meter long stone slab inscribed with the names of people who defended Andorra from the Spanish army during the war.
