History The Church of Saint Ascylus and Saint Victoria in Andorra is one of the oldest churches in Andorra. It was built in the 12th century, during the rule of Count Ashkelon, and it remains one of the country's main religious centers today. The original building was destroyed during the 17th century War of the Reapers, but was rebuilt in 1649 by the bishop of Urgell, Gaspar de Canellas. Facts The church is dedicated to the two popular saints of Andorra: Saint Ascylus and Saint Victoria. It is a large two-storey building made from granite stone, and features a large Gothic choir, several chapels, and a separate bell tower. Services The Church of Saint Ascylus and Saint Victoria is used for regular church services, such as Mass, prayer, and bible studies. It also hosts a number of special events, such as weddings, baptisms, and traditional holidays. The church regularly opens its doors to visitors, offering guided tours and other special activities.
