The worship method of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, located in Tiruchanur in Andhra Pradesh, follows the traditional South Indian temple worship protocol. The temple customarily opens at 4.00 AM in the morning and remains open till 9.30 PM in the night. Devotees first perform a Puja (ritual worship) to wake up the Goddess and seek her blessings. This begins with a 'mangalasasanam', wherein the devotees circumambulate around the main shrine and offer obeisance to the deity. Following the mangalasasanam, archana (chanting of Vedic mantras) is performed.Later, Prasadam (holy offerings) are presented to the deity. Coconut, fruits, paints and flowers are some of the offerings that can be made. Aartis (ritualistic offerings) at 6PM in the evening is also performed.
