Worship Method:
At Gurudwara Shri Khalsa Diwan - Patiala, the traditional Sikh method of worship, called ‘Rehras’ or ‘Rehras Sahib Path’ is used - a combined prayer consisting of hymns written by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth guru of the Sikhs. This prayer is told to be recited daily or at least thrice a week and is performed in the morning, afternoon and evening at the Gurudwara. Before beginning the prayer, the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhism, is opened at a random page and placed on a stand in the center of the prayer hall. Then members of the congregation stand before the Guru and listen as the Granthi (priest) reads from the Holy Scripture. After the readings, everyone sings the hymns, a process known as Kirtan, and after the Kirtan, a standard Ardas (prayer) is offered. The Ardas is followed by the offering of food items, called Langar, to the congregation, and the worship ends with a hymn dedicated to the Gurudwara. This most visited temple in Punjab
