The worship method of Chennakesava Swamy Temple in Srikakulam in Andhra-Pradesh follows the paasupu saamajika pooja tradition. The ritual is performed five times a day and starts with Nadaswara chanting and ends with Aarti around midnight. Kohlai is the most important part of the ritual where raw materials and offerings are offered to the deity amid chanting of mantras and singing of Bhajans. Other rituals include Pallaki Seva, where the idol is placed in a Pallaki (carriage) onto which devotees attach themselves and lead the procession, Vahana Seva, an event in which the Lord is dressed up in a particular attire and is carried on any of the Vahanas (vehicles) like lion, horse, elephant, chariot, palanquin etc, Thulabhara Seva where devotees offer sacks filled with paddy, dal, fruits, money etc and Pushpa Pallaki Seva, where decorated palanquins are used to carry the deity with decorated flowers on it, amidst chanting of mantras and band of traditional musicians.
