St. Procopius' Orthodox Church is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America located in Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1945, the church is the oldest Orthodox Church in the Chicago area and is one of seven Orthodox churches in the Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest. The church is dedicated to its namesake, St. Procopius of Caesarea, a renowned hermit who lived in the fourth century. History:

The Church was originally established in 1945 under the leadership of Very Rev. Ioanichie (John) Ivanovici, a priest who had emigrated from Romania. Working with the small Orthodox Romanian community in the Chicago area, he was able to acquire a small building that became the first Orthodox Church in Chicago. This building served as the center of the growing community, and it eventually grew to house the largest Romanian Orthodox parish in the Midwest.
