Chiesa parrocchiale San Giovanni Paolo II In Albania: History,Facts, & Services
Chiesa parrocchiale San Giovanni Paolo II is a Catholic church in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rome. It is located in the Quirinale district of Rome, and was consecrated in 1995. The church was officially named in honour of Pope John Paul II's visit to Rome in October 2000. It caters to the various needs of the comune, including religious and social activities.
The church was designed by a local architect, Mario Losi and features a modern, minimalist design. Inside the church, there are columns that mark the internal structure and create an interesting visual space. The main altar is a large, shallow cuboid that is elevated, reflecting the power of the figure of Christ that is celebrated in the paschal candle.
The church is open daily and offers various services, including Holy Mass, celebration of the Sacraments and liturgies, and regular parish activities. All are welcome to attend.
The church also houses the Reveries of St. John Paul II Museum, which showcases the life of the late Pope.
