The Boulevard of the Republic (Bulevardi Republika) is a main arterial road in the city of Tirana, Albania. The boulevard is 6.3 km long and is the central east–west axis of the city, connecting central Tirana to Tirana International Airport. It is 30 meters wide for most of its length, making it one of the widest streets in Albania. The boulevard was constructed in the 1960s during the Communist regime of Enver Hoxha. During this period, it was known as Bulevardi Stalin (Stalin Boulevard), after Soviet Union leader Joseph Stalin. In 1991, after the fall of the Communist regime, the name was changed to Bulevardi Republika (Republic Boulevard). This led to the rebranding of the entire boulevard, with the addition of new shops, restaurants, and banks. Today, the boulevard is a popular destination among both locals and tourists.
