During the 16th and 17th centuries, the manor was owned by several prominent Danish noble families. At different times, it was owned by Peder Jensen Ulfstand, Svend Rønnov, and Herluf Trolle.In 17 19, the manor was purchased by King Christian V of Denmark for his sister, Princess Juliane Marie. After Juliane Marie died in 1796, her nephew, King Frederik VI, took ownership of the manor and placed it in the trust of his daughter, Countess Sophie Amalie Moltke, who, in turn, gave it to her son, Rudy Adolf Moltke.In 1858, the manor was purchased by Marius Bechmann.
