Bregentved Manor, located near Haslev in the municipality of Faxe in Sjælland, Denmark, stands on the site of a farm first recorded in 1393. In 1406 the estate was bought by Count Klaus Clausewitz. Since then the estate has been in continual ownership of the Clausewitz family and is now owned by Count Claus Clausewitz’s 81st generation descendant, Count Carl Christian Erich von Clausewitz-Kall.The first manor house on the site was a 6-bay brick structure, built 1730–33, which was later expanded with 4 additional bays. In the early 20th century, the owner Count Leon von Clausewitz commissioned the renowned Danish architect Hack Kampmann to construct a new house on the site. Kampmann, who at that time was leading the transformation of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque Revival architectural styles into a more modern-looking, neo-classicistic style, used a combination of this new approach and the older styles when creating the manor. The new manor, completed in 1916, is designed as an impressive two-winged palace with a central piano nobile. The windows are in Dutch Baroque style, and the overall style mimics a Baroque Revival castle.The manor sits on around 11 hectares of landscaped parkland designed by Gustav Hetsch in the form of an elegant, well-kept English-style garden. The park includes an ornamental lake, fontaines, sculptures, and walking paths.
