Horror Story of Vesanto Church, Vesanto
The small town of Vesanto was idyllic; nestled in the hills among the dense pines, it was nearly perfect. The only thing that stood out was the small, decrepit church that sat on the edge of town, an eyesore among the otherwise perfect nativity scenes.
The local legend of Vesanto Church was one that kept the town from visiting the church. Legend had it that the church was haunted by the restless ghost of a demented preacher that had taken his own life in the church years before. His crazed, maniacal ranting was said to echo through the belfry and sometimes on moonless nights a ghostly figure could be seen carrying something on its shoulders as if looking for its long-lost master.
The townsfolk kept far away from the church, never to step foot inside, much less take a peek inside. That, however, all changed when the local children began to mysteriously disappear. Soon the townsfolk's suspicions grew and fingers began to point to the church as the source of these disappearances.
Fearing the worst, many of the brave brave folks of the town began to form a posse to take action in the middle of the night to stop the supernatural menace that lurked within the church. When they eventually braved the darkness and entered the church, they found the ghostly preacher hunched over the graves of the missing children, holding them in his cold, lifeless hands.
In the morning, the preacher's spirit was laid to rest, the children returned to their families, and Vesanto Church was returned to its place in the shadows, never to be visited again. It is one of the most haunted places in finland
