Horror Story of Jinja Sailing Club - Jinja
The lake around the Jinja Sailing Club was tranquil and peaceful during the day, but at night something sinister lurked beneath the surface.
Most patrons of the club knew the legends and stories of the lake, of a sailor who had gone missing and never returned. But most stopped paying attention to the stories when the sun went down.
But one night, a group of teenage friends decided to take their sailing boat out during the moonlit hours. As they entered the lake, they spotted something in the water that caused them to freeze in terror.
At first, they thought they were looking at a large fish, but as the moonlight shone down, they could make out a human figure. With a boney hand and sunken eyes, the figure was barely recognizable as a person.
The teenage friends gasped in horror, and as they attempted to sail away, the figure slowly emerged from the depths. The figure came closer, until they were face-to-face. They could see it was an old man, with long, tangled hair and a raggedy beard.
The old man opened his mouth, and uttered the words no human should ever have to hear: “I’m the sailor who never returned. Whatever you do, never go sailing past dark.”
The old man then slowly submerged himself back into the lake, and the terrified teenagers sailed back to the Jinja Sailing Club. They have never gone sailing again at night, and they shared the story of what had occurred in hopes that no one would ever make the mistake of sailing the lake after dark. It is one of the most haunted places in uganda
