Horror Story of Nkhotakota Police Station, Nkhotakota
Malawi
It was the weekend and the police station in Nkhotakota, Malawi was relatively quiet. Two officers, John and Peter, had just finished their shift and were about to go home. When they were almost out the door, John noticed a strange sound coming from the holding cells in the back. He told Peter he was going to check it out and he did.
He cautiously approached the cells, but what he found inside chilled him to the bone. A group of about twenty people, dressed in rags and appearing to be very malnourished. When John asked what they were doing there, one of them finally spoke up.
She said that a group of men had captured them and brought them to the police station a few weeks ago, saying that they were witches. The officer, much to his horror, realized that the group had been held captive in the cells ever since.
The two officers quickly called for help and the captives were brought out of their cells. However, the moment of respite was soon forgotten when some of the officers mentioned that they had seen things that had “somehow gotten in”.
It was said that late at night, eerie howls could be heard coming from the cells and shadowy figures roamed the hallways. No one was sure what these things were and why they had been held captive in the cells, but one thing was for certain: Nkhotakota Police Station had become a place of terror.
