Elsa was excited to be spending the summer in Luxembourg with her aunt and uncle. After getting settled, they decided to take a trip to explore the area, and they stopped at the Château de Strassen. Elsa admired the beauty of the castle but as she looked closer she noticed something strange about it. Some of the stones seemed to be shifted and no one seemed to be around to explain what was strange about the château.
They decided to go down into the cellar to explore and found a strange statue. It was well-made but Elsa noticed there was something eerie about it. She thought it resembled a figure of death itself. As she looked-on, the statue began to move and it slowly turned out to be a skeleton.
Elsa screamed and the skeletal figurestarted to laugh. It was the ghost of a king who had died in the château long ago. He was cursed until he was able to tell his story.
The king explained that he had been the ruler of a small kingdom and had come to this castle to celebrate his engagement. But a witch was jealous of his happiness and cursed the castle, trapping the king and his court in the cellar.
For generations, the curse remained until it was finally broken when a brave woman descended into the cellar and faced her fears. As a reward for her bravery and strength, she and her family were allowed to live in the castle without fear of the curse.
Elsa was amazed by the story and thanked the ghost of the king for sharing it with her. But she also realized that the château was still a little too creepy and she decided to not spend the night.
The next morning, Elsa's aunt and uncle checked on her and were surprised to find her still wide awake. She quickly told them everything that had happened with the ghost king and the curse and they were relieved that no harm had come to her.
