To make it easier for pilgrims to travel, a ropeway connecting Sonprayag with the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district will shortly be built. According to reports, the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) has approved the construction of a ropeway between Sonprayag and the Kedarnath temple in the Rudraprayag district, which is expected to significantly increase religious tourism.Â

Uttarakhand has one of the best hill stations in the India and people prefer this state for adventure tours in India.Â
Although the state wildlife board had previously approved these projects in June, the final approval was still pending from the NBWL due to the significant opposition from environmentalists in the environmentally vulnerable Himalayan area.
In addition to other choices that were also made by the highest committee of the NBWL, the board reached the final decision during its 70th standing committee meeting, which was presided over by Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.
After the meeting, Yadav claimed that the discussion focused on proposals submitted by the states and UTs regarding the use of land in protected areas and eco-sensitive zones for the supply of drinking water, the construction of telecom towers, the building of bridle tracks, and the installation of ropeways for the convenience of pilgrims in difficult terrain.
