New entry rule to Japan as of 7 Sep travelers must know

Synopsis: Japan started to ease travel rules in June for overseas tourists and given a nod to group trips or travel guide packages. Having said that, independent travel is still out of the menu but the new rule has given a positive message to overseas travelers.

Japan has introduced new Covid-19 rules to enter their countries. Now that Japan has uplifted strict rules, more people want to travel to Japan during fall and winter. British holidaymakers can visit Japan without a travel guide but must follow other laws and regulations. 

Gradually, Japan’s tourism is returning to normal and introducing new travel policies to make traveling easy for overseas and domestic travelers. As of 7 September, UK travelers can visit Japan without a travel guide. Plus, now they don’t have to submit their vaccination certificate at the time of departure. 

This decision has boosted tourism in the country and the number has increased from 20,000 to 50,000 visitors in a span of a short period. Rules to follow

Foreigners who travel to Japan must abide by the following rules to travel to Japan.

• Book a package tour, travelers from all countries are accepted. 
• Tourist visas are important at the time of arrival.
• Applying for a visa entails two steps: 1) Your travel agency will obtain the certificate for registration to the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS); and 2) Presenting the ERFS certificate when applying for a visa at an embassy or consulate.
