To qualify for this application, the applicant must have an income of €2400 per month which is four times the minimum wage in Portugal.

What is a Portugal Digital nomad visa?

This new visa is an alternative to an existing D7 visa which is mainly to permit residents for retirees and ‘passive income’ earners. The new visa is launching on 30th October 2022 which came after the immigration law in July. 

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Must be a citizen from a nation outside of the EU or EEA
  • The company’s headquarter must be located outside of Portugal
  • Earn at least €2,800 per month, or four times the Portuguese minimum salary.
  • The earnings criteria under the D7 plan have increased as a result.
