According to sources, a private bus operator will initiate the buses between Siliguri-Kakarvitta-Kathmandu with the assistance of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC). Firhad Hakim, the stateās minister of transportation, opened the bus service in his existence.
Sources confirmed that the bus will regularly depart from the Tenzing Norgay bus terminal at 2 PM every day and travel 615 kilometers, before arriving in Kathmandu the following morning at roughly 7 AM. Each personās ticket will cost about INR 1500.
In his conversation with the media, Mr. Hakim stated that he was very pleased to know that NBSTC had resumed bus service after a long break of two years. With this, travel between Nepal and North Bengal will experience an upsurge and bring more tourists to both countries. He added that if the demand increases in the future, NBSTC will probably run more buses on this route. Mr. Hakim further stated that the bus service from Siliguri to Dhaka, Bangladesh, will also begin soon once they receive clearance (NOC) from the Bangladesh Government.
