St Macartin's Cathedral is a Church of Ireland cathedral located in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It was the cathedral of the former United Dioceses of Clogher and currently serves as the cathedral of the Diocese of Clogher. It is one of three cathedrals in the Diocese of Clogher, the others being St Patrick's Cathedral, Clogher, and St Fethlimidh's Cathedral, Rossorry. It is one of the best churches in Ireland which you must visit.

History:

The cathedral dates back to the last years of the 17th century and is considered one of the oldest surviving churches in Ireland, as well as one of the most important Protestant churches in the country. It is believed to have been founded by the Church of Ireland bishop, Peter Browne, who was appointed the first bishop of Clogher in 1619. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Ireland.

St Macartin's Cathedral is a seven-bay Late-Gothic structure built in the Early English and French style. It was completed between 1793 and 1796 and is constructed of red sandstone quarried locally. The Cathedral consists of two storeys and measures 108 ft x 64 ft. The ceiling is of plastered timber, with two tiers of galleries. The Lady Chapel, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is situated in the south aisle.
