Lloyd Swamer and four other missionaries from the Assemblies of God USA, were sent to Zambia in 1988 to pioneer the work in Zambia. Subsequently, other American missionaries joined them. After a few years, some local national pastors began to join hands with the missionaries and other local national leaders. As a result, the Zambia National Assemblies of God (Church) was established in1994 as a full Zambian church and denominational body. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Zambia.
