Church Of God In Zambia is a Pentecostal/Charismatic denomination with a presence in several African countries committed to holistic mission and inner transformation. It was founded in 1933 by Bishop P. M. Bertram and his wife Edith.
History
In the early part of the 20th century, the Church of God was formed in America by former members of the Christian Union churches, who emphasized the teaching of holiness and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Through the 1934 Missionary Trip of Edith Bertram, the movement reached Zambia, especially the then-British-administered Northern Rhodesia.

The Church of God in Zambia has grown significantly since its beginning. There are now more than 300 congregations throughout the country. One of the noteworthy contributions of this denomination is the “Heart of Love” program which helps empower vulnerable women of Zimbabwe with skills to become financially self-reliant.
