Chilenje Baptist Church in Zambia began in 1933 with a band of believers gathering together to worship in a cornfield in Munali township south of Lusaka. A missionary society known as the Central Africa Mission (CAM) supported this church along with others in the region. The church rapidly grew and in the late 1950s, the church was able to construct a permanent brick facility, which still stands today. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Zambia.
