The Cathedral of Christ the King was established in 1945 by five Danish missionaries of the Holy Ghost Fathers, or Spiritans, and the first Mass was celebrated on May 2 of the same year, with Father Bentley as celebrant. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Zambia.
