The most common worship method of Lord Shiva temples in Uttarakhand is by offering a milk bath to the Shiva Linga. This method is conducted inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. A priest performs the milk bath by pouring milk mixed with rice, spices, and grains on the Shiva Linga. The devotees then offer flowers and other items like fruits, incense, and camphor to the Linga. After this, aarti is performed by burning incense, ringing a bell, and chanting mantras. Offerings of Prasad like sheera, panchamrit and other sweets are also made.
