St Michael and All Angels Church, Harbledown In England: History,Facts, & Services

St Michael and All Angels Church, Harbledown, is a Grade I listed parish church in Harbledown, Canterbury, Kent, England. The church dates to the 12th century and was built in the Norman style. It is part of the Church of England and belongs to the Deanery of Westgate. Its current vicar is Rev. Alexander Hayes. The history of St Michael and All Angels dates back to at least 1150, when it is mentioned in the will of William de Marlebee. The main body of the building, including the nave, chancel and tower are Norman in style, with later additions such as the south transept, sacristy and north aisle being added in the 15th and 16th centuries. The church is renowned for its stained glass windows. Many of the windows date to the 16th and 17th centuries, and feature a range of decorative designs. The east window is particularly noteworthy and depicts the Annunciation in 15th-century style. Services at St Michael and All Angels have included Sung Masses, Evening Prayer and Compline. Children are also welcome to join in the church’s Junior Church activities on Sundays.
