Parroquia del Señor de las Angustias is a 19th century Roman Catholic church located in Mexico City. Built in the Neo-Classical style, the church has two main facades, one of which faces the Plaza de la Ciudadela. The church was built between 1866 and 1868 and was dedicated to the Virgen de las Angustias, the Patroness of Mexico City. The structure was built out of large stones, including a 41-meter high bell tower. It was designed by Fray Antonio de Almina and it was the first church in Mexico City to include equal-sized naves. Inside, there are several features, including an altar decorated in gold and marble, a baptismal font, several chapels, and a wooden structure above the main altar. The parish has had several restorations over the years in order to preserve its unique characteristics. It offers a variety of services such as rcite of the rosary, christian funerals, religious retreats, and sanctuary visits.
