Linzhou Grand Canyon is a famous scenic spot in Henan Province, China. It is located at the northern edge of the Taihang Mountains. The main body of the canyon is a deep gorge, the innermost part being the 150-meter-wide Grand Canyon of the Beiluo River a tributary of the Yellow River. The canyon stretches 80km pass Linzhou in the Henan Province, cutting through its high mountains. The spectacular canyon walls show a variety of colors and forms, with the highest peak at 700 meters in elevation looking down into the soaring mountainside. There are many sights to see along the way, including the Yulongshan Water Cliff, the Fairy Appearing Cave, the Fish Station, Shimen Old Pass and Black Hill. Linzhou Grand Canyon is located in Henan Province of China and has a history of more than 400 years. It was first found in 1604 when monk Jiangtian explored the area. He discovered a network of valleys, mountains, caves, and waterfalls, and named the area the Grand Canyon. Jiangtian was so impressed with the beauty of the landscape that he named the area the Fairyland of the North.
