: Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, also known as the Girne Mosque, was built between 1572 and 1577 in the coastal city of Famagusta, Northern Cyprus. It is the largest mosque in the city and is the main mosque there. It was named after Lala Mustafa Pasha, the Ottoman commander who captured Famagusta in 1571 and then ordered its renovation. After the Ottoman defeat, the mosque was turned into a church in 1699, which served as the main cathedral for the Latin Archdiocese of Cyprus until 1950. It is currently a functioning mosque and is a popular tourist attraction. It is one of the most famous mosque in Turkey which you must visit.

The Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque is a 16th century Ottoman-style mosque located in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus. It was built between 1562 and 1567 by the Ottoman Grand Admiral Lala Mustafa Pasha during the Ottoman rule of Cyprus. The mosque was built over the site of the Church of St. Nicholas, and was originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is the largest mosque in Northern Cyprus and is an example of Ottoman architecture, with four minarets, domes, and intricate stone carvings covering the walls and arches. The main prayer hall is supported by four massive columns, and is adorned with Iznik tiles. The interior of the mosque features intricate wood carvings, stained glass windows, and an ornate mihrab niche. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
