Kings Park War Memorial in Perth, Western Australia, was created to remember those who died in service of Australia during World War I, World War II, and other conflicts. It was officially unveiled in 1925 by then-Governor of Western Australia, Sir William Campion. The memorial was designed in 1921 by architects Oldham & Beirne. It consists of a stone pavilion, raised dais, and two side walls to carry the inscription of those who died in service, listed by regiment and name. It also contains a bronze statue of a soldier and two bronze tablets of remembrance. The pavilion was originally surrounded by an ornamental garden, where a fountain and a walkway from the War Memorial Gates (located at the end of the Avenue of Honour) provided access to the site. The memorial underwent significant restoration work in 1965-66. It was further restored in 2014, which included upgrades to the electrical, lighting, audio, and alarm systems. New pavement was added, the paving and walls were repointed and the bronze statue restored.
