Église de Kélibia In Tunisia is a historic Roman Catholic church located in Kélibia, Tunisia. The church was built by the French in 1906 and formerly served as a cathedral until the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kélibia was suppressed in 1964. It is one of only three Roman Catholic churches still in use in Tunisia. It is one of the best churches in Tunisia which you must visit.

History:

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kélibia was first established in the late 19th century as part of the Mauritanian Vicariate. The church was built between 1903 and 1906 and was consecrated on May 5, 1906 as the Cathedral of St. Joseph of Kélibia. It remained as the diocesan cathedral until the diocese was suppressed in 1964. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Tunisia.

The church is made of stone and features a number of decorative elements, including stained glass windows and an ornate statue of St. Joseph. The façade features three stone arches above the main entrance which are decorated with fretwork and mosaics. The roof is topped with a single bell tower.
